Ozone Therapy Applications
Major Autohemotherapy (MAHT)
  • It is the extraction of venous blood (90 to 100 ml) which is further exposed to an equal volume of oxygen-ozone, this ozonized blood is carefully re-infused into the patient.
  • Optimal and early systemic and vascular effects.

Rectal Insufflation
  • It is the administration of a mixture of oxygen-ozone gases through a slim catheter placed in the rectum. From there, ozone will reach the bloodstream from the hemorrhoidal plexus.
  • Systemic effects similar to those of the Major Autohemotherapy.
  • This is the simpler, painless, and less invasive way to receive ozone with systemic effects.

Minor Autohemotherapy (MiAHT)
  • It is the extraction of a small amount of blood (5 to 10 ml) which is further exposed to oxygen-ozone and then is administered by intramuscular injection.
  • Very useful in allergies and autoimmune disorders. Ozonized blood clots in the muscular system, creating an auto-vaccine with exposed surface antigens.
  • This application produces a general stimulation and a inespecific immune activation. It also powerfully enhances the enzymatic antioxidant system.

Topical Ozone Application
  • Direct insufflation of a mixture of O2-O3 gases over diseased skin and tissues.
  • Powerful therapy against chronic ulcers and skin infections.
  • Local effect plus absorption of ozone increases vascular flow and promotes healing.

Joint Infiltration in Orthopedic and Ostheo-Articular Disorders
  • It is the direct infiltration of oxygen-ozone in the diseased joints.
  • It is indicated in cases of arthrosis, arthritis, bursitis, tendinitis and other inflammatory and degenerative articular disease.
  • This application blocks the inflammatory cascade and local fibrosis, improving oxygenation and reducing pain. Ozonetherapy in ostheo-articular disorders greatly reduces rehabilitation time, and sometimes prevents surgery.

Intramuscular Injections
  • Intramuscular injection of a mixture of oxygen and ozone.
  • Useful in the treatment of herniated discs, where the ozone is injected in the paravertebral muscles adjacent to the herniated disc.
  • Worldwide, this modern and safe application of ozone is replacing surgery for its lower risk and high success rate in the treatment of lumbar and cervical herniated discs.
  • This application blocks the inflammatory cascade and local fibrosis, improving oxygenation and reducing pain.
  • Nowadays, this is the only therapy capable of repairing the diseased disc, promoting a revascularization of the affected tissues

Subcutaneous Injections
  • Injection of the oxygen-ozone mixture below the skin.
  • Useful in pain management, where it is administered in acupuncture points or myofascial trigger points.
  • We use a low dose and a low volume of ozone, hence this application is known as “ozone microdose” or chemical acupuncture.
  • Applied also in cosmetic medicine for the treatment of cellulites and other fat tissue dystrophies.

Ozonized water
  • Used in the treatment of topical infections, wound disinfection, burns, etc. It can be applied directly, and also it can be drank.
  • Useful in the treatment of sore throats and other infections.
  • Ozone in water only lasts for a few hours, and must be kept under refrigeration.

Ozonized oils
  • Applied directly it is amazing in the treatment of skin infections and disorders.
  • In Cuba is used in capsules or drops to treat intestinal infections.
  • Very useful in chronic rhinitis and sinus infections.
  • It has a powerful germicide effect but it also promotes and enhances the skin antioxidant balance, improving the turgency of the skin.
  • It is the best way to preserve ozone for therapeutic effects, since properly preserved ozone can remain active for years in ozonated oils.
